The Northwest Pacific is a rest area, which means that all vessels and supplies come from there. People came to Seattle, spent money, bought supplies, to board a boat heading north. The Gold Rush first in Canada, but people arrived there by the Chilkoot Trail in Alaska. After all the gold claims have been made, people went to the River Yukon, Alaska, or traveled by boat to the mouth of the Yukon River and proceeded upstream.
