How long does it take Praying Mantis eggs to hatch?
I have had my Praying Mantis egg pod for the whole summer now, and I was wondering if it takes more than one summer to hatch.
Medic miller is long winded and I don’t think he ever answered the question. I think you may have found an oothecae (egg case) that had already hatched. They are laid in the fall and they need to get cold before they hatch. I keep fresh ones in the refrigerator until I am ready to hatch them. They usually emerge two to three weeks after I let them warm up and they have usually been in the fridge for three to eight weeks. They look the same after they hatch..
