Washing Scuba Equipment
One of the most important things you can learn scuba diving is to wash your equipment and gear. It is very important to maintain your equipment for maximum durability and ensure your equipment is running safely at a diving.
Carwash facility
The easiest way to prepare your car wash is to fill a large tub the house is filled with fresh water. If not then a simple bath hose or sink will work just as well. Many dive shops or stations will have two tubs and a tub of water will be for general gear such as wetsuits and other equipment while the other is for specialized equipment such as cameras and computers diver and all the gadgets or sensitive.
Where possible if your gear has a lot of sand on it is to hose down before soaking in the bathtub.
Regulator
The first thing before start washing your regulator is to ensure your dust is as secure as any water that enters the first stage will cause water to enter the internal parts and cause damage.
Before replacing the dust cap you need to dry the cap protection and the opening of the first stage. The simplest is to use your tank to blow air on the two components, which will dry parts adequately otherwise you may be using a dry cloth to do the job.
Once done, place the water regulator gently for 5 minutes, avoid pressing the purge button as this allows water to enter the first step. It is best to rotate all moving parts to ensure there is no salt, long-term rust. Once its cleaned and soaked hang high and dry.
BCD
Washing a BCD comes in two parts, internal and external BCD. The exterior is simple and can be dipped and dipped in a bath of fresh water to wash off any salt of the BCD.
Step two, as mentioned is the internal BCD, it will be that small amounts of seawater would enter into diving, and it will turn to salt crystals which over time will values dysfunction of the inner bladder and tear.
Here's how to do it, press the button to deflate the BCD and provide entry into freshwater about 25%, then shake the BCD and let the water washing around every corner. Once you are happy you have washed the best method internal is to use exhaust gas values to empty the water, just clean them too.
Now slight swell BCD to ensure the internal bladder does not stick together during drying and hang out to dry.
Dive Computer and Camera
Wash your dive computer clean fresh water and not from the same water you washed your gear other than detergents and sand could damage your equipment sensitive. Soak the equipment for a longer time and press all the buttons to ensure that no salt trapped. If possible, Brush surfaces with a toothbrush to clean hep it better, but do not use sensors or field glasses as it may cause damage.
Wetsuit, booties and gloves
Your wetsuit, booties and gloves must be washed in water soft and you also like to add May detergent wetsuit. Submerge the elements in water and turn upside down too, and hold until the wash clean. Once cleaned and hang dry.
Fins, Mask, Snorkel, and other Equipment
All other equipment should be immersed in cool water, soaked from top to bottom until cleaned and dried.
Tips: To extend the life of your equipment will not stand in the sun because it will discolor the equipment and shorten life.
