How to wear a ladies black+grey+white checkered shirt?

That’s somewhat how my top looks like. But it’s three-quarter sleeve.
Red has always been my signature colour. I’m thinking of putting on some red accessories like earrings and necklace. Besides that, does it look weird if i wear a red tank top under the shirt? And maybe only button two buttons or don’t button at all? Otherwise, what colour should i wear under my checked shirt?
Oh and and, what bottoms go best with it?? I’m not wearing anything short because i’ve recently got a lot of scars on my legs. =/ So, it’s either jeans or pants. And, i don’t have skinny jeans or any white bottoms. By the way, i’m going to a birthday party. Please help. THANKS!
