Est Softball
16 inch softball, please help?

i was wondering how to hit the ball in the left or right side when the softball i pitched at you, what is the best way to keep the bat, and if there are any drills i can do to better myself so i can make the team , thanks. Also, im a lefty, which position do you tihn is est for me?

I don’t get your question about keeping the bat, but if you are a lefty looking to send a 16″ ball down the line in right field, it is easiest to do with an inside pitch and opening your hip on your swing. Pretty much the opposite for pulling a ball to left – take an outside pitch and step in toward third base with your front foot on the swing. Because 16″ are so heavy they can be pretty tricky to pull, especially for a lefty. Patience is key. And drilling off a tee can actually be super helpful in working on your swing.
Re: the best positions for a lefty, I would say try the right side of the field like 2nd base or SC. It can be tricky for lefties to turn and throw quickly enough from SS or 3rd. I don’t think it factors too much in outfield positions though. And lefty pitchers generally can put a pretty sweet spin on a 16″ ball.
Good luck making the team!
