T-Ball University: Drills for new coaches Batting Tee Ball

Season baseball is just around the corner, so that parents and Coaching parents and began digging through the garage for your baseball equipment and begin extending their arms rusty and leg muscles. For many communities, children begin their career in baseball or softball in the role-up skills called Tee-Ball, which is baseball, minus the launcher. In T Ball is also spelled T-Ball, children learn the basics of stick, Fielding and base-running. For purposes of this article we will concentrate on batting. In Tee Ball, Batting is done using a T-shirt that is about waste high in the batter. The Tee is a great tool to develop a swing child. When used correctly, a coach can analyze all the components used in a swing and make subtle or less subtle adjustments to swing a Child batting position, rotation of the hips and work up.

It is my opinion after running all these seasons Good footwork is the most important aspect of touch. If you have a good set of legs, arms, hips and head will be set up with the timing necessary.

To achieve good footwork, I put the tee on top of marble. I'll draw a line perpendicular to the ground with the player's neck Tee Ball bat From the mid 45 degree angle from the base of the tee's. The line length is about 12 inches. Adjust the length accordingly to an extension comfortable with each player with the arm swing a bat. I will then draw a line perpendicular to the first line and parallel to the edge of the basic tee back to the net. Therefore, this line has the form of an inverted "L". I squatted down and point my index location where I want everyone to be laid off along the parallel line. Drawing the line of 12 inches allows the hitter to extend his or her arms when swinging strike comfortable tee-ball with the "sweet" spot of the bat.

I want every child to have a stiff front leg square feet to the line parallel. The player should be putting their weight on the balls of both feet. The front foot square will avoid the front knee from buckling or bending. Imagine a bug on the back foot. I want the child to squash this bug with an imaginary pivot of their back foot. About 60% player's weight must be on the back foot. This is called the "load" position. This post is open to the hips toward the pitcher when "squashing the bug". The front foot should stay square and the front knee locked when "squashing the bug" too. The rear leg can bend but do not take a bath with large the back leg. (This exercise is presented in a short video on our site www.tballu.com in the "free sample" section).

The Most coaches and parents who have played the game when they were young have learned to take a step toward the pitcher with the front foot when swinging the bat. The Most coaches and parents remember to take a small step or a milestone. I do not want the player to take a step with their front feet when crushing bug "from one step will lead the player to dive when lightly swinging a bat and, consequently, the eyes of the player will draw when swinging the bat well. The no stage will prevent a dip of eyes when you try to hit a ball break (eg, curve, slider, etc.) later in the player's career when he or she advances in high school baseball or softball. Using a series of batting helmets as barriers to prevent the foot of the player before making a step if they had previously been taught to do.

Practice "crush the "bug with a bat located between the arms and shoulder blades back. Have used whole team this year at a time ensuring that they are a good distance away from each other. Keep an eye on a stiff front leg and back foot should pivot on the ball with their back foot. Some readers may Rotate and lift the heel of the foot back so that the weight is placed back on the big toe of back foot instead of the ball of back foot. The head Players should remain on the ground while looking through the strike zone. If the shoulder back does not stay in the strike zone on a pivot, the head rise from the strike zone and the front foot automatically lifts up, and when the batter is pivoted on the heel of front foot. This is called "rolling" the front foot. Repeat this exercise 50 times before every practice and every game. The player can also do this exercise 50 times a day before a full length mirror at home. This will provide the player great muscle memory to ensure a smooth swing every time.

After more than ten years of coaching youth baseball, he was my experience that, despite the best efforts of parents and coaches, too many children do not learn the basics of typing and commissioning and develop bad habits from the start. As they move these children to the coach-pitch leagues and Kid-ground, this translates in coaches spending many hours trying to correct the problems, which could easily have been avoided in Tee Ball or beginner level Baseball. Coaching children, or if your own child in your community is one of the most rewarding experiences you have. Children looking to learn and successfully apply their skills you've learned a lot fills. I wish you best of luck in your t-ball, baseball or softball season.
