This bat is composite. its probly not a bad buy for the price, but the bat seems excessively Dent. i dont no year on this subject. if u wanted to beat that I would go with the Rawlings 5150 for about 50 or so more dollars. STI def exactly the same work with paint and a different name, they have stopped the plasma and its replacement by 5150. Although the plasma has probly the best pop ever, he easily Dent. hope that helps
