Leander ISD remains one of the most dynamic school districts. The district currently has 21 primary schools with 2 more open for fall 2009. Six schools in East and four secondary schools that serve high schools, and one opening in Fall 2010. This is also two alternative schools to serve the community. Leandro is close to nature, including lakes, hills and wildlife. Leander City manages four parks have a variety of services, including soccer fields, golf softball, pavilions, walking and biking, a BMX track, a skate park, a Golf Disc Golf, fishing, landscape gaming, baseball fields, a pool, barbecue grills, a basketball court and an amphitheater. Lake Travis, a large recreational lake, is also nearby. Crystal Falls Golf Course, an 18-hole course is in Leander.
Leandro also includes the state of the art library and a theater company directly. Parks Department hosts several programs and events throughout the year.
Austin Capital Metro is currently working on a suburban train in another connection to the center of Leander Austin. It is 32 miles of track in the new trains to transport people every 30 minutes during peak morning and evening. Shall consist of nine stations started and some rail link buses to transfer passengers to their final destination.
